Pete Doherty, troubled Babyshambles frontman and Kate Moss’s ex, checked himself into rehab this week, only to check himself out five minutes later.

Pete Doherty’s latest bid to quit drugs got off to a bad start - as the troubled rocker checked into rehab - and out again within in five minutes.

And within less than 24 hours, he was in trouble with police again after the singer was spotted by officers throwing rubbish out of a minicab window.

According to the Sun, Babyshambles singer Pete entered the Detox 5 clinic on Sunday night — strangely wearing two trilby hats — but soon after his luggage and a guitar were put in a car and he was driven away.

Pete who was dumped by model Kate Moss, after it was revealed he cheated on her with South African model Lindy Hingston, was in a blue minicab which was stopped by police at around 12.20pm in north London.

Doherty was questioned before being asked for proof of identity. One witness said: “The policeman gave him a stern ticking-off, then issued him with the fine. It looked like he got a severe warning.”

Despite her anger at Pete’s betrayal, Kate Moss is reported to be paying for Doherty’s implant in his battle to quit drugs. The implant will be the fifth one for the Babyshambles frontman and will cost the model £15,000.

A source told The Mirror: “She feels terribly betrayed but understands that he stills needs help and support.

“Kate is very aware that Pete still has issues with drug use and doesn’t want to leave him in the lurch completely. Helping with his medical care is one thing that Kate wants to do for him”.

The 28-year-old will have the implant done in another two weeks.

Five minutes of sobriety for Pete Doherty is like a lifetime of teetotaling for the rest of us, so I, for one, am impressed. We’re talking about a man whose body is so thoroughly saturated with illicit substances that when he dies he won’t even need to be embalmed. That’s dedication. Wait, no, I mean that’s horrible. God, man, lay off the smack.
